Bedford School Committee Accepts $150,000 Jersey Mike's Gift for Davis School Playground
BEDFORD — June 8, 2026 — Bedford School Committee accepts $150,000 from Jersey Mike's to finish Davis School playground. The board voted unanimously at its June 8 meeting to accept the donation, which Superintendent Mike Fournier said covers the remaining balance of the school's playground project, to be completed this summer without use of tax dollars. The district also conducted first reads of five policy updates from the NHSBA spring 2026 cycle, including a new religious expression policy and a recommendation to withdraw the existing religious-holidays policy. Fournier's May discipline report showed Bedford High School used the district's homegrown deepfake policy for the first time, resulting in five days out-of-school suspension per student in two separate incidents. Chair Sue Giannato closed the meeting by disclosing that the district had received new bylaws from the Bedford Bulldogs Athletic Booster Club and that a court date in the ongoing dispute is set for June 24.
