Bedford Planning Board approves Riddlebrook Acres phasing, backs Girl Scout pool permit
BEDFORD — June 1, 2026 — Bedford Planning Board approves phasing plan for 54-unit Riddlebrook Acres senior housing development. The board unanimously approved a three-phase construction amendment for the Dumas family trust project at 227 Wallace Road and County Road, with Brent Cole of Granite Engineering presenting a plan that staggers four, six, and four buildings across phases tied to road and infrastructure milestones, including a bonding requirement to ensure road completion. The board also unanimously recommended that the Town Council approve a building permit for the Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains to install a 16-by-32-foot above-ground pool at Camp Kettleford on the Class 6 Camp Road, conditioned on recording a liability waiver before the permit issues — a request that must reach the council by June 10 before a state law change eliminates the review requirement on July 1. In officer elections, Hal Newberry was re-elected chair, Chris Bandezian was elevated to vice chair, and Matt Nichols continued as secretary; the board also named Logan Johnson liaison to the Historic District Commission, Mark Snyder to the Conservation Commission, and Chris Swiniarski to the Facilities Committee.
