Ayer Library Sets June 20 Summer Kickoff Carnival With Wizard and Bounce House

With no fresh Town Hall press releases dropping overnight, the biggest item on residents' radar heading into the weekend is Ayer Public Library's Summer Kickoff Carnival — a free community event set for Saturday, June 20.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The library announced on June 8 that it will launch its summer season on June 20 with a full outdoor celebration featuring magician Ed the Wizard, a bounce house, hands-on activities, and a plant and seed swap. The event is free and open to all ages. Details are on the library's website at ayerlibrary.org.

TOWN HALL

A few standing town notices remain active and worth keeping on your radar this month. The Office of the Collector of Taxes has posted a Notice of Tax Taking scheduled for June 30 at noon at Town Hall — property owners with outstanding balances should act before that deadline. Mandatory water restrictions remain in effect as of May 1; residents should continue following conservation guidelines until further notice. Separately, the town has posted a statement that the stop-work order at the Lincoln Hills development has been lifted. A town discussion of proposed changes to the Devens governance structure also remains open for public attention; more information is available at ayer.ma.us.
