Ashland Moves July 4th Recycling Event to Saturday, July 11

The town has shifted its annual July 4th recycling event to Saturday, July 11, giving residents who had planned to drop off materials around the holiday a new target date to pencil in.

TOWN HALL

The town's recycling event, previously scheduled around the Independence Day holiday, has been rescheduled to Saturday, July 11. The town announced the change via its official News Flash feed on June 17. No reason for the move was given in the announcement. Residents should update their plans accordingly; additional details are available at the town's civic alerts page (https://www.ashlandmass.com/CivicAlerts.aspx?aid=680).

SCHOOLS

The Ashland Public Schools calendar shows the last day of school is Tuesday, June 24, with PreK Graduation set for Monday, June 22, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Families with incoming or returning students should note the 2026–2027 district calendar is also available on the district website at ashland.k12.ma.us.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Ashland Public Library is hosting two back-to-back events this Saturday, June 20: Clockstock, a Summer Reading Kickoff Party for families, and CultureFest, which was rescheduled from May 30. Both events land on the same day, making Saturday a full community occasion at the library. The following Monday, June 22, the library offers three programs: a virtual lecture, "Celebrating 250 — New Hampshire & The American Revolution"; an in-person Monday Knit and Crochet Club meeting; and a virtual author talk, "Celebrating America's 250th: 'Boston, 1776'" with author J.D. Dickey. On Tuesday, June 23, the library hosts Clocktown Rockers!, a music program for children ages 2–5 with a caregiver.

The library has also launched a new calendar system for registering for events; residents are directed to the new calendar portal beginning June 19.
