Arlington Schools Close, Library Hours Cut Friday for Juneteenth

With Juneteenth falling on Friday, June 19, Arlington Public Schools will be closed and most Arlington Public Library locations will operate on reduced or no hours, giving residents a long-weekend pause before a full slate of kindergarten screenings the following week.

Arlington Public Schools will observe Juneteenth as a no-school day on Friday, June 19. The next entries on the district calendar are kindergarten screenings on June 22 and June 23. Also on June 22, the School Committee's Facilities Subcommittee meets in hybrid format from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Arlington Public Library system has posted adjusted Juneteenth hours for Friday: the East Library & Recreation Center will remain open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., while all other library locations will be closed in observance of the holiday. Patrons who need in-person services Friday should plan accordingly.
